Lithium batteries in particular are currently the standard for electric cars.

In the future, more and more end-of-life batteries from e-cars will be put to secondary use, for example as storage for photovoltaic systems in private households or as stationary large-scale storage units that can stabilise electricity grids. Such secondary applications can make an important contribution to the eco-balance of battery technology.

We present current research approaches.
