Millions of tonnes of by-products and waste are generated in steel production every year. Large quantities of zinc and iron as well as valuable binders for lower-CO2 cement production could be recovered from these.

A large part of these valuable materials currently ends up in landfills, as corresponding recycling processes are still very complex and expensive. We present new approaches that make steel production suitable for recycling and thus more climate-friendly.
